How To Become an Age Manager
Where It Can Take You
Age managers use their experience and passion for youth development to mentor Nippers between the ages of 6 and 13 and facilitate fun learning programs that encourage young surf lifesavers to develop their surf lifesaving and sport skills. Their goal is to enrich the lives of Nippers through the delivery of surf lifesaving knowledge and skills in a fun and safe aquatic environment.
Each Age Group has one or more Age Managers in charge of a group of Nippers on the beach or in the water, and parents are encouraged to sign up as Age Managers or to assist Age Managers as volunteers.
What Training or Qualifications Will I Need?
The first step to becoming a lifesaver is to hold or obtain the following qualifications;
The Age Manager Certificate provides participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively facilitate Nipper training activities.

Other Requirements
You must be at least 15 and complete your relevant state/territory legislation check(s) for working with children before commencing in your role as an Age Manager. You can find out more and start your application at Working With Children Check Victoria.
