11:30am - arrive at inlet 30 minutes before your event, 12:00am - 500M M/F, 12:30pm - 1,500m, 2:00pm - last swim planned to commence, 3:00pm - presentations at WBSLSC clubhouse – licensed bar

Swim Course


ON THE DAY



  • Collect swim packs from WBSLSC clubhouse Friday 3 January – 2:00pm-3:00pm (WBSLSC Clubhouse)

  • Saturday 4 January – 8:30am-10:00am (WBSLSC Clubhouse)

  • Saturday 4 January – 10:30-11:30am (WBSLSC tent at Shallow Inlet)

  • 11:30am - arrive at inlet 30 minutes before your event (car pool or drop off preferred, normal inlet parking fees apply $5/day or $30/season)

  • 12:00am - 500M M/F

  • 12:30pm - 1,500m

  • 2:00pm - last swim planned to commence

  • 3:00pm - presentations at WBSLSC clubhouse – licensed bar

  • Event day start at midday, exact swim start times to be announced

  • Toilet facilities at Inlet picnic ground

  • Presentations in front of WBSLSC clubhouse from 3:00pm (bbq and drinks)

  • The walk back from the finish line may be through soft sand

  • Final distances are set with best endeavours

  • Keep well hydrated

  • Take precautions to avoid sunburn and heat stress


EVENT RULES



  • Swim along shoreline inside swim course

  • No swimming assistance such as fins or snorkel

  • Wetsuits allowed

  • Feet cannot touch ground except for entering and exiting the swim

  • No deliberate interfering with other swimmers

  • If exiting mid swim, advise a WBSLSC patrol member and return tag and tag ankle strap

  • All tags and ankle straps must be returned

  • Leave no rubbish

  • Do not damage or interfere with natural vegetation at the inlet
